Com apresentação dos humoristas Michael Che e Colin Jost, o evento coloca em embate duas potências do entretenimento: a HBO e a Netflix. A plataforma de streaming liderou em indicações, com 112 produções nomeadas ao troféus. O canal a cabo apareceu na segunda posição, com 108 produções na disputa.
